I also knew so many people that absolutely hated their jobs, so I decided for myself that I wanted to go all in towards having a career and job that I absolutely love doing and could never get tired of. I always found it a lot of fun sharing my music and playing songs for people, so I always knew I wanted to be able to perform. I wrote my first song, Fly, when I was a freshman and it is still one of my favorite songs of mine to play to this day. CAIT: When did you know you wanted to be a musician? How did the transition from pursuing music as a hobby to a career come about?ĭREW: I knew I wanted to pursue a career in music since probably the beginning of high school. I will also improvise over different chord progressions. After I come up with a topic, the rest of the writing usually comes with messing around on my keyboards and synths until I come up with something I think sounds cool. However, sometimes I will come up with an idea, feeling, or story that I want to talk about in a song and write about that.
